After your breakfast in the hotel, our tour guide will pick you up at your hotel in Saigon centre by 8:15 am.
First visit Independence Palace, also known at the Reunification palace, built on the site of the former Norodom Palace. The palace is a widely known landmark of Ho Chi Minh City and was designed by the architect Ngo Viet Thu. Next, visit beautiful structures from the French colonial times such as the Notre Dame Cathedral, the historic Central Post Office and the War Remnants Museum, which has a vast display of both the Indochina wars.
After lunch at local restaurant, drive to Cu Chi tunnels on bus (approximately an hour and half). Before exploring the tunnels, you will receive a short introduction to the site followed by an introductory video about the tunnel construction and its use during the wartime.
Afterwards, explore the tunnel systems, which once included specially constructed living areas with kitchens and bedrooms side by side with other martial facilities like storage, weapons factories, field hospitals and command centers. Besides, there are also many hidden trap doors and dangerous traps within the maze-like tunnels for security purpose during the war.
Later, special tea and cassava (guerrilla’s food during the war) will be served. You can choose to relax or try for hand at shooting a real gun. Return to Saigon for the night.
