Myanmar
Myanmar underwent a turbulent twentieth century, politically speaking, and right up until 2015 large parts of the country were off-limits to visitors on a tour through Asia. Since the democratic elections of that year, however, the country has really opened up. Foreign investment is pouring in, and the tourist industry is starting to explode. On a tour of Myanmar you’ll find incredibly friendly locals almost everywhere you go, and great weather all year round (there is a cool season, but temperatures don’t usually drop below 13Ëšc). You’ll also encounter stunning nature, with spiritual structures expertly weaved into the mountains and forests. Yangon is the country’s biggest and busiest city, in which you’ll find a mix of colonial and traditional architecture. Near Yangon you’ll find Bago, home to striking golden pagodas.
